Aetna's changes prescription drug benefits in PA and DE

June 29, 2012 - The fourth tier of the pharmacy benefit (specialty medications) on all Pennsylvania 2-100 and Delaware 1-100 plans is changing August 1, 2012. The benefit was 10 percent coinsurance for a member obtaining a specialty pharmacy medication.

Effective August 1, 2012, and upon renewal thereafter, the benefit will be a flat $250 copay after deductible, if applicable, for a 30-day supply for a member obtaining a specialty pharmacy medication.

Some important points about this change:

This announcement was made separately from but on the same day as Aetna's response to the Supreme Court ruling on health care reform.
